Sounds like: Chet Faker, SOHN, The Acid
Why do we like this?

Good news guys: I finally invested in some really good quality headphones, and boy have they made listening to music a lot more enjoyable!

Currently being enjoyed is "Gone," the brand new single from Medium Punch, a new(ish) project of Melbourne-based producer Jake Leahy.

The track is an engaging, intelligently created pop song that highlights Leahy's growing production talent. Deep, cavernous bass tones are combined with clever sampling and timing to create a soundscape of great intrigue. Add to that the smooth vocals of Leahy's former bandmate Don Hone (aka Sibling), and you've got yourself a winner of a single. Apparently the original was written without vocals in mind, though clearly the track suits Hone's liquid tones to a tee; a fantastic match if ever I've heard one.

"Gone" is taken from Medium Punch's debut EP, scheduled for release on February 20th.
