Why do we like this?

Shall We Walk The Desert, Friend?

I often find myself reflecting on calm times with friends — friends I've lost, friends I've gained, and friends that have just kind of faded away.

"Tala Tannam" is a joyously calm celebration of these moments. The literal meaning of this title translates to the word "tears" but isn't a reference to sadness. The song's narrative is that of times shared and moments explored with friends old and young. It is about tears, yes, but about the joys of memories involving tears.

The swishing and desert blues guitar guides you through a desert of memories and experiences, each little moment an oasis at which to rest. The vocals are distant and floaty, like a wind gushing from behind.

"Tala Tannam"from Mdou Moctar is a heartwarming experience.
