Why do we like this?
mdnt just dropped this new single "Dreamcatcher," produced by Smarterchild (Rick Markowitz) and rhymed over by Jez Dior. Not only is it a great track, but we get to premiere it!
It's probably easiest to categorize the sound as part of the rising of the "neo-soul" genre, which is defined by soulful vocals layered over progressive electronic music. That, and pop. Either way, it makes for the perfect combination of sounds.
According to mdnt, a lot went into composing this song and pulling together the accompanying video, particularly the recent passing of his grandfather:
Catch the video below, and keep posted for future collaborations from this trio -- something tells us they've got more material up their sleeves!

My entire life I have been compared to all his positive attributes. He was a brilliant man, but he also possessed a deep well of dark traits that ostracized him from the family and contributed to his death. I had always wanted to talk with him, with the hope that understanding him would help me avoid or control the darker parts that I may possess as well. The video takes my initial insecurities about possessing the dark parts of my grandfather and manifests them in the masked figure terrorizing both Jez and myself.
