Portuguese MAU made their Indie Shuffle debut with their impressive adaptation of Summer Heart. Having released several smooth chillwave remixes, MAU is now releasing their very own single, "Cheetah." The track opens up with a simple drumbeat that evolves into something extremely captivating, mixed with a haunting melody.
One is able to draw parallels to a wide variety of influences, from M83 to Daft Punk. The song transports me back a couple of decades. while still retaining its modern-day vibe.
Overall, this is a well-produced track that has me looking forward to hearing what else MAU has got up its sleeve.
