Why do we like this?
I'm usually a bit of a Matthew Dear skeptic, but there's something that I quite like about "Her Fantasy." Somewhat reminiscent of M83, I'd have to categorize this as experimental electronic music...but frankly, it's a bit more niche than that.
Later this year (August, to be precise), Matthew Dear's Beams will drop via Ghostly International. Given that there are a number of months until then, I half expect we'll be hearing some new singles from the Texas-based artist.
Oh, also interesting to note -- that aforementioned record label? Yeah, Matthew Dear was a foundung member of that. They've got a pretty sweet lineup, including Tycho and Phantogram. In a nutshell, it's clear this guy has a good ear for music.
