Everybody STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING because Matt Corby has finally released a new song!
The Australian musician and singer is one of those talents that people fall in love with straight away, and when "Monday" found its way into my inbox this morning, there was nothing else to do but listen on repeat for a good long time.
This is his first release in about two years, and doesn't fail to impress. Beautiful, choral harmonies and a soulful vocal washes over the listener, but those faithless lyrics married with the gospel essence of the track are what make it all the more poignant.
Even more impressive is that the song is entirely made of sounds produced by Corby's body and voice, according to an interview with Triple J, with stomping on the ground and clapping playing the only accompanying role to those phenomenal vocals.
This is a taste of his debut full-length album, which will be dropping early next year, so keep tabs on him through Facebook for information on that.
