Why do we like this?

Mars Today is a jack-of-all trades musician in the Bay Area. He's cut his teeth with Los Rakas and officially remixed Zion I and Collie Buddz. He aschews convention with his solo instrumental project, Awake.

Of the album, from which we're previewing the track "Honor" today, Mr. Mars Today explains: 

"Lost somewhere between lo & hi-fi, this joint is meant to conjure up images of dark forests, and stormy coastlines. It, along with all of the songs on the forthcoming instrumental album (Awake) feature vocal samples from Mooji, who un-officially guides the listener toward deeper thought & contemplation. It is music specifically designed to squash the ego, "meditational-slap" if you will."
