Mark Whalen's single "Happen Twice" is the perfect mixture of '70s groove-focused pop and modern day psych-pop.

The off-kilter synths provide a slacker pop sound while the accompanying keys glimmer in a way that was a staple in the '60s and '70s. The beat and bass emit a funk-filled fantasy, while the vocals don't shy away from a harmonious & chic tone. It's as if Mark Whalen was transported from the 70s and gifted to our generation to remind us of how it was done way back when.
