Yesterday I stumbled on an older track entitled, "Dr Nimm's Garden of Intrigue & Delight" by a UK born, Ibiza base producer, Mark Barrott.
To say I stumbled maybe isn't entirely accurate, I had searched "best in balearic pop" and Barrott's album, Sketched From an Island, popped up. Perhaps I was feeling particularly emotional that day, in need of something light, hopeful, and deep that spoke to a yearn to get out, or to find peace with where I was at. Barrott's album addressed both needs and I haven't stopped listening since.
I do this though, get on a kick, get obsessed, and listen until I know it through and through. The current obsession is Balearic music, and so far, Barrott is leading my search in experts of the genre.
At any rate, I hope you enjoy the track. Maybe it won't be so mind-blowing for you, but at the very least, I think it will take your mind somewhere good.
Enjoy!
