An under-appreciated talent for so long, Brisbane's Wafia has been on the verge of big things for some time. Her stunning debut EP from a couple of years back pricked plenty of ears, but she's been relatively quiet since -- taking her time developing her sound and direction.
Her feature on Japanese Wallpaper's buzz single "Breathe In" kept impatient fans content for awhile, but we've had to wait until now to enjoy some new solo work. She's probably going to surprise a few people with this one, covering Mario's 2004 hit "Let Me Love You," and showing plenty of sass in the process!
Her angelic vocals are still on display, but she's taken them into a more electronic R&B realm, enlisting the talented Jack Vanzet (Thrupence) and Andrei Eremin on producing and mixing duties (respectively).
It feels really good to hear new music from this promising young performer, and even better knowing there's much more to come in the coming months. In the meantime, make sure to give her debut a really good listen, you won't be disappointed.
