Why do we like this?
I think I know what Mariah Carey wants for Valentine's Day, and no, it's not an elaborate piece of jewelry or some lingerie from her man Nick Cannon. It's a future bass-infected remix of her track "Touch My Body."
Back in 2008, Mariah dropped her eleventh studio album, E=MC2, featuring the track "Touch My Body." Despite featuring Mariah's vocals, it was a pretty pedestrian track featuring a pretty adult contemporary vibe. Thankfully, Albuquerque producer and all around talented guy Reighnbeau was able to see past all the fluff around the track. He's plucked the hook and given it the club-ready banging sound it needed.
Like a mad scientist at work in the lab, Reighnbeau has pieced together concoctions of timpani, chain, operatic vocals, plucked strings, and whatever other synths he could find. The final result is something that does Mariah's voice the justice it deserves.
As for your own Valentine's Day gift, you should immediately be putting this remix on your mixtape for the evening's festivities. Nick Cannon and Mariah would approved.
