I have listened to this song so much -- at least 300,000 times -- that I decided I should bless other people's ears and post about it. This counts as one hour of community service.
As a teenager I was drawn to lo-fi and guitar-pop because it made me feel happy in a time when everything around me felt so foreign (call me a poet). Now, the whole musical umbrella of synth-pop, bedroom pop, etc., evokes euphoria.
Thank you to this French group, Marble Arch, for giving me the first song on my summer playlist. Children of the Slump is their first album release since 2014. The song opens with breezy guitar riffs that make me feel like I'm running across a beach, or something dramatic.
Enjoy. This is a command, not an option.
