Rising singer songwriter Malena Zavala has this week announced the release of her debut album, Aliso, and to celebrate has dropped new single "Could You Stay."
A delightful '70s influenced soul-pop expression about falling in love with a friend and not telling them, "Could You Stay" has a tinge of sadness to it. Written and produced by Zavala the track contains a bluesy guitar lick alongside the London-raised Argentinian's dreamy vocals. It's melancholy in the best way.
Zavala holed up in a house in California and wrote most of the album in a few weeks before spending 6 months recording, producing, mixing (with Gareth Jones), and completing all the art, visuals and videos. Talking about the experience Zavala said;
It's really satisfying to find a way to express yourself and get things off your chest that have been there for years, I’m really glad I found it and kinda surprised aswell. I'm finally at peace.
Aliso is set for release May 9.
