In the span of a week in Michigan it has been 60 degrees, calm and sunny; rainy like a pleasant spring day; category 2 hurricane winds that claimed lives and caused massive damage, to 47 degrees and tolerable. Today, sun and chilled temperatures with just one random 5 minute blizzard pocket.
The reason I'm telling you this is because Michigan is notorious for this type of bipolar weather and I've been feeling it - it is reflective of my own emotions, reflective of shit that's just been going so wrong and so right, and to the pit of my soul I feel this sense of loss. Either I'm lost or losing it, but I also feel that by tomorrow, or at least sometime in the near future, I'll be wiser than I ever was.
Sometimes I wonder if it is because of these intense patterns that people from Michigan have so many emotional issues, but then I think, nah, we're all human, we're all a little crazy; we all feel this way from time to time.
And so, whether you're at the ends or the beginnings of your wit, this new single from MaJLo's forthcoming album Over the Woods should speak to you as it's speaking to me.
"Bird's Song" is calm, severe, lost and wise. It's is all these things wrapped up in a beautiful sonic package. It is the emotion of the moment and I hope you enjoy.
Over The Woods will drop next week so keep your eyes out.
