Why do we like this?
Made in Japan move one step closer to dropping their sophomore album, Tame All Those Thoughts, with the release of a second single titled "History." The hard-working Sydney band have had a busy year already, performing at the Great Escape Festival in the UK before rushing home to complete their album. Recorded and mixed entirely by the band in their home-made studio, the album is due out on November 1.
"History" continues on from the 8.5 minute epic "Follow the Fool" -- and while it's half the length, it's still just as moving. Made in Japan have a brilliant ability to draw the listener in with the way their music builds, using key shifts and choruses better than most.
I mentioned in my previous review that "with anticipation often comes disappointment," but as long as Made in Japan are making tunes like this, I will be a happy man.
