A new Seattle band, just what the world needed! Being from there, I'm extra stoked to bring Made In Heights to Indie Shuffle, the project of Blue Scholars DJ/Producer Sabzi with vocals by Kelsey Bulkin.
"Wildflowers" came my way from a friend a few weeks back, and I can't get it off my mind. It's the casual cool of the combined vocals, samples, and instrumentals that really make track work. Bulkin's steamy vocals add a celestial component to the confidently meandering electronic background. Everything about this song silently boasts sex and simple decadence. They describe themselves as "mythical filth pop New York," and I couldn't agree more, although I'd also add that there are traces of R&B and indie pop within their musical walls.
Made In Heights has a full length album called APORIA: IN THESE §TREETS available for free download at their Bandcamp, so make sure to check it out. This is, undeniably, some damn good music.
