So the dude giving us one of the most epic peace signs in the picture to the upper left is Mac DeMarco, a 23-years-young Canadian-born musician. As good as he is at splitting that index and middle finger to form the universal greeting, he's even better at plucking an electric guitar and singing us some terminally chill vibes.
I first heard "Freaking Out The Neighborhood" during my daily stroll through the interwebs last week. While browsing GQ.com, I came across
this video, and was immediately drawn to the song. When Mac DeMarco came up in the credits, I had to know more.
One of the most hilariously awesome things I found out about DeMarco is the genres used to describe his music: off-kilter pop, lazy rock, jizz jazz, and indie jangle. Adding to the awesomeness, my man still uses the guitar he bought for thirty Canadian dollars when he was 16 years old. Now that's some bang for your buck!
Do yourself a favor and check out this curious young man's music as well as his
