Why do we like this?

It has been 6 months between releases, but New Zealand-based MAALA's second single for 2015, "Unbound," was well worth the wait. First appearing on the interwebs with his debut single "Touch," the Auckland artist made ears prick with the moody offering.

"Unbound" further extends the love affair listeners have developed, with Maala pairing swelling, beat-driven production, tag-team vocals and soaring falsetto into a wonderful blend of electronic R&B and indie-pop sounds.

I feel as though everyone is doing this hybridised genre so well, and can't wait to hear more and more innovative releases from this wave of music (which seems to be made possible by platforms such as SoundCloud).
