Why do we like this?
M.I.A. is back, and boy have I missed her. Making up for the disappointment of Maya, the British artist has released a number of mixtapes (including my personal favorite Vicki Leelx Mixtape), signed with Jay-Z's Roc Nation and become a mother, all while working towards the release of fourth album Mantangi.
If you think motherhood might have had a calming effect on M.I.A. then you are sadly mistaken. "Bring The Noize" is a bombastic dance floor smasher, with M.I.A. spitting boastful raps over a deranged beat that's hard to keep up with. Sampling the Public Enemy classic of the same name, M.I.A. has kept the perfect balance between confident lyrics, pounding drums and huge sounding electronic beats. This is seriously high energy fun, like Red Bull for your ears.
