Oh no, MØ has done it again. The Danish singer-songwriter recently came to San Francisco and put forth an epic performance. And if you are an aspiring singer/frontman, take notes from Karen Marie Ørsted -- she's the shit.
I was first blown away by Karen back in 2013 when she performed at our SXSW showcase, and ever since then have been a huge fan of her live set. Beyond her golden pipes, Karen commands the stage like a natural, with tremendous amounts of energy as she thrashes her bodacious ponytail around. Towards the end of her set, at the itty-bitty venue The Rickshaw Stop, Karen ran up stairs to the mezzanine and did an amazing number from atop. I thought she was going to jump into the crowd at one point.
Having just released her debut album a few months back to collaborating with Diplo and Avicii, this girl is on track for a healthy musical career. Keep MØ on your radar, and be sure to catch their live set at your next opportunity.
The deep house remix of "Don't Wanna Dance" is provided by French DJ/Producer Zimmer -- it's pretty snazzy.
