"Shelter" is the brand new track from Lyves, also known as North London resident Francesca Bergami. Uniquely pairing an old-school soul vibe with synth licks and ambient chords, it's equal parts familiar and refreshingly new.
Sweeping, piano-led, and almost painstakingly slow, this track is nothing short of heartbreaking. There's a lot of space between the simple layers at play here, providing plenty of room for the raw emotion to burn through.
While the delicate piano leads the way, trickles of synths, vocal harmonies, and flickery beats slowly enter the soundscape, adding to the rich atmosphere and supporting the heartfelt melody.
A beautiful, passionate track from an exciting up-and-coming artist, I'm really looking forward to hearing more from Lyves. Her forthcoming debut EP is set for release later this year.
