Polish-British multi-instrumentalist Luke Marzec returns with the haunting "Shiver," his first piece of new music for 2019.
Following on from last year's Chances EP, this latest track has a much more organic feel to it, with Marzec channelling the experimentation of James Blake with the soulful vibe of Sampha, resulting in a wonderful combination of sounds.
There's an under current of darkness to "Shiver," with Marzec's engaging vocals floating over the striking percussion and fractured production. Speaking on the track Marzec stated:
I had recently come to terms with the fact that I broke the heart of someone I loved. Though I never meant to; I ran away from my promises, terrified of what it would mean if they came true. This song is about remembering the beauty we shared, accepting my part in destroying it, and learning to forgive myself.
