Why do we like this?

"If There is a God" comes from Luke Jenner’s newly-released, debut, solo album aptly called,1. The song starts slow and builds into a springy tune sprinkled with softly escalating “ahhh”s and delightful guitar. It’s a journey that takes you from somber to elevated and groovy. His ability to transport listeners across that gradient is exciting.

The rest of the album is raw and unmasked, telling a story of childhood beauty and trauma. It is undoubtedly a piece of release, reflection, and engaging musical conversation. This song, especially given its title, is perhaps a glimmer of hope. Or a sense of it.

I can’t wait for album 2.
