Today we're premiering the new single from New Zealand-born, Los Angeles-via-Australia-via-NYC-based artist Lucola Bang, aka Luke Benge. "Orgasmic Crimes" is the second single from his upcoming EP, following on from "Snakes & Ladders."
The track begins with an almost tribal-sounding rhythm and repetitive synth notes, setting the scene for an understated, breathy melody.
Idiosyncratic and endlessly immersive, each layer not only offers something totally new, but completely different to the soundscape. You've got the hyper-80s synth lines, the fluid high-pitched keys and the drawn out, psychedelic melody, all kept in line by an unassuming, yet vital beat.
This is a thoroughly unique track; it shines through its diversity and originality.
"Orgasmic Crimes" was produced by Joshua Delaney (Rat & Co), and will feature on Lucola Bang's forthcoming EP What of It, set for release in January 2016.
