The first few seconds into hearing this track from Lucainblomkamp and I thought I was having some kind of strange out-of-body experience.
Okay, so not really, but I swore that my headphones had come unplugged from my laptop and everyone around me could also hear what I was listening to. I even pulled my earphones off my head to make sure I wasn't going crazy.
That out-of-body feeling never left. "The Overman" is a dark and gripping five minute journey that warps and toys with you through a maze of diverse layers. I found this track so interesting and perplexing, it was almost daring me to not hit the repeat button.
Lucainblomkamp's upcoming album Bad Faith has been promised for awhile now and with this release we now have a firm date. Watch for it via Good Manners Records from 1 April.
