We're big fans of Melbourne's LUCIANBLOMKAMP around here, and for damn good reason. I recently posted his phenomenal remix of Seekae's "The Stars Below," and today he's switched chairs, unveiling two remixes of his own work, courtesy of fellow Melbourne artists Rat & Co and Planéte.
Rat & Co's remix of "Help Me Out" is really something else. Opening with sparse, pitch-shifted vocals and deep chords, a smooth beat shortly kicks in with an eerie groove. The atmosphere is strange and frosty, growing only darker and more jarring throughout. As the track progresses, the soundscape deepens, with auxiliary rhythms and wispy beats filling the space between each layer.
The overall atmosphere is more subdued than the original, and the rhythm gives it a different vibe altogether. Rat & Co is a phenomenal act in their own right, and this remix is really interesting and just as captivating.
