Why do we like this?

UK four-piece Low Island have released a follow-up to their debut EP with In This Room. The first single “Holding it Down” blends their smooth electro-pop sound with a deeper dancefloor groove. Feeling its way into the emotional-house sub-genre, “Holding it Down” is a building and bopping track – not quite danceable but it still makes you want to move.

The rest of the EP fuses familiar live drums and percussive guitar with synth lines and creamy vocals, steering away from the heavy sample usage that often drives this genre of music. You could easily imagine these tracks being played live, and with a slew of live dates around the UK, you might be lucky enough to catch them.
