Sounds like:
Flume,
Purity Ring,
Lorde
Why do we like this?
This is pretty damn great. I can't say I'm too much of a Lorde fan, but this rework definitely does it for me. New York-based producer/writer/remixer Until The Ribbon Breaks takes control and utilizes the vocals of Ella Yelich-O'Connor (Lorde) to create something really worth your ears.
Released August 20, "Royals" is now similar to something Flume or Purity Ring might dig. It's complex, layered, and incredibly structured. The voice manipulation craves attention in the best way possible, and the backdrop is minimal yet picturesque, as if the listener can envision it placed upon picture.
It carries emotion and the synths prove atmospheric and moody. Needless to say, we're loving it.
