It’s been a while since I’ve heard some solid alternative rock tracks, but luckily Long Faces has stepped into my life with their new track “Leave It There.”
Long Faces is an American indie rock band established in northern New Jersey by songwriters Matthew Condon and Michael Neglia. What’s most impressive about these guys is that they have 30 years of cumulative experience in national and international tours, including SXSW, CMJ, The Vans Warped Tour, and the Soundwave Festival in Australia. Basically what I’m trying to say is that they know what they’re doing, and they’re doing it very well.
Long Faces perfectly blends modern and classic rock, while keeping you hooked with clever arrangements and insanely engaging lyrics. The intro sounds like Young The Giant, but it all changes once the vocals come in and you’re transported to a meadow of airy guitar strums, memorable melodies and a beyond perfect beat that’ll make your hips swing side to side. If intoxicating, dancable, summery indie/alternative rock was a genre, Long Faces would dominate the charts.
The band recently completed the production of their full-length album Old Friends. If you’re craving some more Long Faces after listening to “Leave It There” (which I guarantee you will), check out their SoundCloud here.
