Midway through 2013, we brought you "Rhoes," the debut release from mysterious Melbourne producer London who impressed plenty of people with his smooth track. A well-known operator on the local DJ circuit, London chooses to let his musical creations do the talking for him, providing only small tidbits of back-story to keep listeners guessing. Now we have a little more knowledge of his musical prowess with his follow-up single, "Window Washer."
Featuring the sleek vocals of fellow Melbourne producer Stahsi, we're treated to three and a half minutes of masterful production on his new release. It possesses a fantastic, looped feel to it, which will have you entranced from the get-go. And if that doesn't hook you, the enthralling vocals will! Plenty of Australian producers are compared with two of our most famous exports, Flume and Chet Faker, but "Window Washer" sits somewhere in between the two -- the hip-hop flavored beats of the former paired with the soulful undertones of the latter. It's very easy for music reviewers to make comparisons like this, but London has done enough to warrant plenty of admiration on his first two releases, and I'm looking forward to more.
Make sure to keep an eye out for both of these fresh artists during 2014 (check out Stahsi's recent single "Needless"), I have no doubt you'll be hearing plenty more from both of them.
