Why do we like this?
Brooklyn-based duo Tamper (comprised of the cross-continental blend of one Norhtern Irishman and one Australian) are in the midst of releasing a series of covers. So far, they've dropped their own versions of "Disparate Youth" by Santigold and "Red Socks Pugie" by Foals. Now, they've had a crack at the 2010 Local Natives track "Wild Eyes" -- the original is here, for comparison.
That Tamper took a spritely indie track and transformed it into something dark and electronic is not only a big challenge, but it's really damn cool. The cover keeps a similar vibe to the original, but it packs an additional punch -- largely purported by the deeper vocals and bass.
For more, check out Tamper's recent original track "Be Well."
