Why do we like this?
Little Dragon and SBTRKT seems to be a partnership that works. You've probably heard their latest duet, "Wildfire" -- yes, the very same one Drake sampled -- but have you heard this?
"Never Never" is a remix SBTRKT did for Little Dragon's Blinking Pigs EP. It's more like conventional dubstep than "Wildfire," but it's actually pretty good to listen to. Everything is in restraint -- the bass doesn't dominate the track to an extent where it overpowers the vocals, which actually contrast with it pretty nicely. If you know Diplo's remixes of Sunday Girl or Robyn, think of that, and that's roughly where this is at.
SBTRKT has taken this to just the right place. It's tame enough that it could make it on the radio, but it's also suitable for a more alternative crowd, as the balance between the indie pop of Little Dragon meets the post-dubstep sonics of SBTRKT is just about right.
