Melbourne's Lisa Salvo is re-releasing her 2014 debut album next week -- so this isn't exactly the newest song, but as soon as I heard it, I knew I had to share it.
Salvo's melody feels eerie from the first note, almost uncomfortably intimate as it leads you through a distant atmosphere. It's an interesting soundscape, mostly organic but with some intricate electronic elements that add emphasis and ambiance.
The gripping vocals draw me in like a moth to the flame. From the wavering verse, to those soaring harmonies, to the angelic mantra, "Give me your love, don't hold out on me." For such a sweet melody, you can hear it's coming from a place of pain and vulnerability.
Salvo's debut album I Could Have Been A Castle, will be re-released on November 13th via Eastmint Records.
