Linus Young first caught our attention back in April of this year with their single "Sister." The song made a strong enough impression on me that the band's name stuck in my head, and so when they reached out for a premiere of their newest track it didn't take much to sway me.
"Crystal Ball" perfectly demonstrates that Iris and Joseph are a match made in musical heaven, their harmonization setting the perfect bridge between grinding guitars and raw drumwork. In just under five minutes they were able to convince me that they're an act to keep an eye on, and I won't be surprised if they accomplish the same for you.
On September 23rd, the band will release this track as part of their debut album release, Category 5 via Island Records. As a bit of trivia, the album title is partially inspired by Hurricane Katrina, a subject close to the heart of Joseph, a Louisiana native and the main songwriter in the band.
