Why do we like this?
Okay, so Linkin Park isn't really indie, but I had to post this purely for the fact that it features Pusha T, one of 2013's best MCs. "I'll Be Gone" first appeared on Linkin Park's fifth album, Living Things, with this remixed version taken from their soon-to-be-released remix album Recharged.
Now, I can't say I'm overly familiar with the original song, having grown out of nu-metal during my high school years, so I did a little research and sussed the original online (you can listen to it here). While the remix by L.A.'s DJ Vice still contains the trademark Linkin Park sound, it's been laced with a trap beat and the addition of raps from Mike Shinoda and Pusha T.
It's an interesting clash of styles, but as they have proved with previous remix efforts, specifically the album Reanimation and the Jay-Z collaboration Collision Course, these boys know how to reinvent their sound. Love it or hate it, it's sure to get people talking.
