Having just announced the release of their forthcoming album, Chambers, Chicago indie act Lightfoils have also dropped the albums first single "Summer Nights."
"Summer Nights" is classic shoegaze material, offering reverb heavy guitar riffs, rhythmic percussion, and lead singer Jane Zabeth Nicholson's dizzying vocals seeping through the mix.
There's a dreamy haze to this one, with "Summer Nights" conjuring up images of the classic '80s films like The Breakfast Club and Pretty In Pink. Why these films I don't know, but there's a nostalgic vibe to "Summer Nights," and let's be honest, who doesn't love The Breakfast Club?
No matter what my weird connections are, "Summer Nights" is an awesome tune, with Lightfoil's Chambers one album to look out for as 2018 draws to a close.
Chambers is set for release on November 16th.
