Levitation Room is a group that embodies the psychedelic '60s, adding a modern, lo-fi twist with a dash of garage rock. My interest in their sound began in 2015 when I first heard "Loved" off of their debut album, Minds Of Our Own. The thing I like about Levitation Room is they're aren't trying to sound like anyone. They aren't trying too hard. Cool in their own way.
Based out of Los Angeles, Levitation Room's sound allows you to stray from the rush of the city; the confines of the concrete jungle. The strum of the vintage, dreamgazey guitars allow you to mentally escape to a place of solace. Lead singer, Julian Porte, romantically swoons listeners with hopeful lyrics:
Do you want to break off where the sunrise meets the sea? // Maybe you could use a little change of scenery? // Don't you know the summertime can go endlessly? // You just say the word and come along with me.
Levitation Room releases their latest LP, Headspace, on October 4th. I'm really looking forward to that record and I hope you are too :)
