A brand new signee to up-and-coming Perth label Pilerats, Fremantle native Leon Osborn is definitely a producer to add to your watch list. While he's been making music for a little while now, he piqued interest late last year supporting Giraffage on his Australian tour, and his remix of labelmates Willow Beats followed soon after.
Turns out, the guy is pretty adept himself; his latest single "You Were Gone" is an immediate favorite. Punchy and upbeat while retaining a smooth, dreamy undertone, the strength in this track is in its intelligently arranged layering. Osborn has done what a lot of electronic producers cannot, balancing his music perfectly -- not overly complicated, but still with plenty to engage the listener.
