Leon In The Wild's "You Can Leave a Mess in Here" tells the tale of a car-trip through the mountains, making a metaphor of the car as a place where the person one loves can be vulnerable, messy, and themself, while at the same time battling one's own hardships.
I remember the day I came across this song. It made me so happy, like uncovering a hidden gem. The track is really beautiful, airy, jam-packed with emotion, and yet balanced out by a light-hearted sound comprised of claps, whistling, and some really lovely vocal harmonies.
"I’ve always made music while staying in the background,” says Leon. “I’ve always been the guitarist, the producer/engineer, the person mixing/mastering, background vocalist, etc. This is my first step into the wild as myself. I’m just starting out, but I’m excited to continue to grow as a musician in this wild world and share more."
'Just starting out' doesn't look too bad for the new indie artist, as debut track "Fade" — released in May 2020 — has caught the ears of many influential blogs and now "You Can Leave a Mess in Here" — created in a tiny house near the coast of California — is on its way to doing the same.
