Leon Chang, formerly known as just Leon, has been a downtempo legend for some time now. Over the last few years he's shared a variety of 16-bit flavored releases, full of instrumental bangers. Last year he even put together a soundtrack for a fictitious video game about birds.
The track "It's Hot Let's Swim" comes off his brand new LP, re:treat, which dropped earlier this month. It's a massive collection of springy, buzzing synths, and bubbly drums. As the title implies, this particular tune glistens with summery atmospheres. Expansive lo-fi ringing establishes a fertile soundscape of ticking, pops, whistles, and warm percussion.
