It's a Long Drive Babe, We'll Stop If You Wanna Cry
I was ecstatic when Leon Bridges and Khruangbin announced Texas Moon. However, I did not expect to find the immensity of "Mariella."
"Mariella" is one of those tracks that do melancholy right. It has these sweeping and twirled guitars, the chorus wails in the background, the feeling of distance and disappearance — it's pure soft e-pop madness, but it's just so overwhelmingly good.
A track that reminds you of feelings is a golden egg never to be given away and while the entirety of Texas Moon is a masterpiece "Mariella" takes you to places few songs can.
I Love this track and I can't explain it any better than that.
