Why do we like this?
Experimental, glitchy, and incredibly minimal (further emphasized by the video), "Anyway" was part of Leila's 2011 release, Disappointed Cloud. Sitting pretty in the artist line-up at Warp Records, Leila is a female heavy-weight. Iranian born, Leila now resides in London crafting her unique brand of IDM.
When asked how she got into producing in an interview with Dazed Digital, Leila responded, "I couldn't find the music that fitted my mood so I started making it myself." Logical? Yes. When asked what else she was listening to, she bluntly remarked, "Nothing, my ears hurt." WELL THEN. Leila (or Leila Arab) is pounding out the jams with a chip on her shoulder, and I LIKE IT.
Also, check out this jam from her current album, Welcome To Your Life, released back in Feb 2012.
