Channeling the spirit of disco on this sample-driven banger covered in horn sections, "Diosa Del Amor" is a short, but sweet tune by Brooklyn based producer Lefti.
Aiming for the funk heavy, disco sampling stylings of contemporaries like Duck Sauce or Todd Terje, Lefti's "Diosa Del Amor" achieves greatness by not being afraid to sit comfortably in exactly what it thinks it is: a swift dancefloor weapon. Complete with filtered sweeps and snare fills, the horn section here is the icing on the cake: something familiar, yet you can never quite pinpoint where the sample comes from exactly. Literally the definition of something new, something classic.
Honestly, the track would have been stronger for club play if there was more of a proper intro and outro, seeing as it only clocks in at about 3 minutes and change, but we're willing to take what we can get. The world needs more mainstream leaning disco records.
