Left. Nessun Dorma

Cast your memory back to early June, when we featured "Poison Vine," the brilliant single from Sydney's Left. (Jono Graham and Sarah Corry). The track was released as part of a faux-EP (three songs), and this fresh new act was immediately celebrated for their unique twist on the electronic genre. Producer Graham plays guitar in one of my favorite local bands, Made in Japan, while Corry's vocals have been featured in a number of hip-hop tracks. The urban influence comes full circle on this track, with the duo enlisting the assistance of noted producer Adit Gauchan (the beat-maker of Sydney hip-hop duo Horrorshow).

This varied mix of musical backgrounds results in some seriously excellent music on their latest single "Nessun Dorma." Icy synths and guitar are topped off with a thudding beat (where you'll notice definite hip-hop characteristics), paving the way for Corry's stunning, almost hypnotic vocals to take over. At the end of the day, their backgrounds really don't matter; what does matter is the music they're making now, and I'm sure you'll agree they're doing  a pretty good job of that!
