Lavola is a four piece band based out of West Palm Beach, Florida, comprised of Julian Cires (lead vocals/guitar/songwriter), Matt Cabrera (drums), Paul DeFilippis (bass), and Emily Dwyer (violin/backing vocals). They've been tearing up the South Florida music scene one show at time, showing off their mix of melodic tones and abrasive textures.
"7 Steps To Hell" is a dark-toned track that opens up with some simple chanting, followed by quick guitars. Then the full band comes in as Julian Cires slowly raises his vocal tune from soft to loud. It's a full six and half minutes of melodic power.
Lavola recently released This Book is My Cowardice, their debut album that's full of gems. To celebrate, the band is having two CD release parties, set for March 8 in West Palm Beach at Respectable Streets and March 14 in Miami at The Vagabond. If you're digging Lavola, grab the CD off Bandcamp and follow the band on Facebook.
