I found Laura Marling today while sitting on my balcony and enjoying the seventy-five and sunny Texas weather. My mind slowly drifted off while swinging back and forth in my hammock. Laura’s voice has a way of doing that - sending your mind off to places your heart aches.
Laura won the Brit award for best British female solo artist in 2011. Since then, she’s produced 5 albums. Flipping from one album to the next, you can see she has a truly dynamic style. Check out “Curse of the Contemporary” to see what I mean. It’s more upbeat and funky with a mysterious vibe.
Released just two days ago, “Song for Our Daughter” has great Stevie Nicks vibes. The album was co-produced with the multi-talented Ethan Johns. Ethan helped with one of Laura’s past albums “I Speak Because I Can.” The original intention was to release the album in August, but in light of the coronavirus, Laura decided to release the album early.
