Yet another teenager completely blindsides me with a beautiful electronic track. This time it's 17-year-old prodigy LÃ¥psley and her emotional track, "Station."
Hailing from Liverpool, England, LÃ¥psley is really starting to turn heads with both her songwriting and production skills through the covers and original tracks that populate her
SoundCloud. A few of those heads happen to belong to producers like Babel and Ed Black, who have each remixed one of LÃ¥psley's songs. Her newest track really takes it to the next level, though.
"Station" is a perfectly simple tune, where less really is more. The minimal production features a few chords, some kick drum, hand claps, and a few effected samples, which really lets The xx-inspired vocals shine through. LÃ¥psley's restraint on "Station" showcases her talent and familiarity with crafting a perfect pop song despite her young age.
It all makes me wonder what's up next for LÃ¥psley? I'm sure it's something big...
