Why do we like this?

I've iterated numerous times that I'm a hard cat to please when it comes to female vocalists these days, which means that my endorsement of Lapcat's new single "Chicago" can only mean one thing: this is an interesting song.

Fronted by Cate's luscious vocals, the trio make their way through easy-going, borderline trip-hop vibes that elicit easy comparison to Little Dragon. The strong production skills of Kwest and Jean Jacques shine through at each twist and turn, working their way toward my favorite moment: a bridge that kicks in at ~1:45.
