Why do we like this?

As debut singles go, Bogotá-based Lao Ra's first musical foray "Jesus Made Me Bad" is a brilliant introduction to the Colombian's big, bold sound.

Standing out from the crowd, the track is a wonderfully unapologetic and twitchy take on retro-bubblegum pop. Add to this a multitude of glistening hooks, Lao's exemplary vocals and a healthy dose of South American charm, and you eventually come up with a radiant pop song that's incredibly refreshing on the ear.

Play this one loud and proud.
