Well, we have had a noticeably LANKS-sized hole in the blog for quite a while, but he has finally returned with a new one entitled "Rebound."
The Aussie all-rounder, who has been on a hiatus of over a year, delivers a pulsating, emotive, beats driven track that features the smooth vocals of R&B singer,Nick Hill, and electronic artist,JANEVA.
During his time off his project, LANKS released the OK Moon project (a collaboration with Dustin Tebbutt, Hayden Calnin and Xavier Dunn), his new indie-folk project, lindsay, and also wrote for other people's releases including Ngaiire, The Kite String Tangle, Woodes and many more.
This focused time away from LANKS allowed greater freedom and as a result, clarity on what his new music could and should be.
The result is "Rebound," which pushes LANKS into the background vocally, as he focuses on the production and creation of the music, rather than the songwriting.
In LANKS' own words:
"I wanted to change my own perception and make things that excited me again, and when I went back through my beats and demos and found this song again, an unfinished idea where I could play with the idea that I didn't need to be the lead vocalist always.
Check out this amazing live rendition of the song below:
